We need your fullest support to donate the following items to the Hypermart for Bazaar by the Lake.

Each student is required to donate at least 1 item to the hypermart, the more the merrier!

Game trials
Date: 27 Mar (Thurs),
Venue: respective classrooms.
Please remind your students that we only need to see 1 set of equipment and there should be a demonstration of how the game is to be played.
There is no need to "beautify" the equipment for this trial.
The LMs will be going round to check out the games.

Please be reminded that you will be going to the old folk's home tomorrow.
instructions are as follows.
1. Dressed in your PE top and school bottoms, (school skirt or shorts.)
2. Assemble at the concourse by 1445hrs.
3. Either Miss Chia or Myself will be there to take attendance.
4. ONE WAY transport will be provided. You will need to make your way home on your own after the trip.
5. Click on the link to see the map of the area, you all can walk from the area to the nearest MRT station, Aljunied station.
6. We will reach the old folk's home by 1500 hrs and leave by 1630 hrs.
7. You are reminded to be at your best behaviour at al times and show due respect and consideration for the elderly!
8. Lastly, HAVE FUN!

Bazzar by the Lake 2008
12th April 2008, 10am - 4pm
Target for coupon sales
Target of $200 per pupil.
The funds raised are for the upgrading of our school in PRIME 2008. Coupons will be out by next week.
Setting up of stalls (Tentative)
There will be no lessons on Thu 10 April and Fri 11 Apr after recess for pupils to set up stalls.
Day-off in lieu (Tentative)
The day-off in lieu is Mon 14 April 2008.
Class stalls sub-comm
All classes will set up 2 stalls: one food stall and one other stall
I will need to confirm the proposal form and submit to Miss Lai by coming Thursday.
Some FAQ
1. Will there be funding for class stalls?
- yes each class will be allocated an amount as a start up fund. (currently amount still not fixed. We must try to find cheaper foods)
2. what about the hypermarket?
- each student is HIGHLY encouraged to donate five items to the hypermarket. eg canned food and unused new items. Note this is not a jumble sale.
3. how do i price the food items?
- the minimum sale price for food is $3
- the price set should be at least double the cost price
- note that the serving size of food at a bazzar is usually smaller than a normal serving size
4. what about the equipment required for a food stall?
- only power points and if necessary, a centralized freezer will be provided.
- the clas will have to provide all the other equipment such as microwave oven, a portable stove or a hot plate.
5. what about the plates and cutlery?
- the following will be provided if needed: disposable plates and bowls, disposable cups, disposable chopsticks, disposable forks and spoons, serviettes and plastic bags
- as far as possible, order pre-packed food, eg packs of nasi lemak, beehoon
6. what if i need ice?
- submit your requirement if you need ice, ice will be provided.
- collect the ice from collection point.
7.what do i do with the left-overs?
- dispose of them!
8. what if my food stall sells out before end of bazzar?
- clear up, go and have fun!
9. what can i do with the "other" stall?
- set up games stall?
- provide service such as henna?
- sell products lke ballons, ornaments
10. do i have to provide my own prize for the games stall?
- yes each stall will decide on and provide their own prize
11. how do i prize the items on sale
- minimal $3

Currently there are 2 activites that are up, mainly Sec 1 Gardening CIP Schedule and the Visit to Geylang East Old Folk's Home. I will list them down in chronicle sequence. Please take note!
Geylang East Old Folk's Home
When? : 26 Feb, from 1500hours to 1630hours
Where? : Blk 97, Aljunied Cresent
Do what? : Bring joy and laughter to the old folks
Before the Trip
we will need to think of the programme and activities to entertain the residents of the Home.
Some suggested activities include,
- Teaching simple conversational Chinese or English, Maths, etc.
- Exercise with them (please be mindful that they are not as agile as you are.... Please do not attempt to tire them too much!)
- Play games
- Complete simple Art and Craft activities
On that day
- Assemble at the concourse by 1445 Hours
- Take attendance with me! (Very important)
- ONE WAY transport to the Home. Please get yourselves back home safely after the activity.
- You may change into your PE T-shirt and jeans or school shorts (Which do you prefer? Jeans or shorts?)
- MOST IMPORTANTLY!!! Make the old folks happy and be on your best behaviour... That includes being polite and cheerful...
After the trip,
reflect upon the Home visit. We will need to feedback to the school what we felt and learn. Thank you!
Sec 1 Gardening CIP Schedule
When? : 20/3/2008 and 27/3/2008 (Thursday)
What time? : 1445 hours to 1545 hours
Do what? : To help in the gardening of "My Kitchen Garden", including weeding.
